Blessing your enemy

Posted on January 9, 2007 by Bishop Jos Tharakan

Oh God of eternal forgiveness and compassion, I find it hard to forgive the pain that is inflicted upon me by (name). I know in my heart that integral healing does not come until I am able to forgive my enemy. I understand Lord that I may not be able to forget the hurt that he/she has caused me, but surely with your grace I will be able to forgive him / her. As an act of forgiveness I ask you to bless (name) that he / she will recognize his/her mistake and return to your love. I also ask you to protect them from harm that they will know what true love is. Bless them with the awareness of their wrong doing that they will be redeemed by your mercy. Amen.
