Our Inheritance!

Posted on January 1, 2007 by Bishop Jos Tharakan

Blessed and Happy New Year!

The proof that you are children is that God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts; the Spirit that cried, “Abba, Father,” and it is this that makes you a son/daughter, you are not a slave any more; and if God has made you child, then he has made you heir. (Gal 4:7)

Our inheritance is from God and that are Godly. Or it should be Godly because it is from God. This whole year let us remember one thing that we are children of God. Any time we go through life that makes it hard to keep going, let us remember this one thing, that we are God’s own, claimed, loved and held close. We share the inheritance with Christ himself. We are redeemed for ever to belong to God and not to anyone else. Freedom is our last name and we are claimed by God.

True joy comes from this knowledge that we belong to someone and that someone to whom we belong to love us dearly. Be assured, you got it made then. For the one who made us His own has chosen to love us for an eternity and is not ashamed to claim us for Himself.

Blessings for the new year!
