Do not fear!

Posted on May 19, 2007 by Bishop Jos Tharakan

“Do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God”. Isaiah 41: 10

Many times we are overcome with fear for various reasons. I think the worst of all fears is the fear of loneliness and abandonment. People take their lives when they feel like no one loves them, understands them or cares for them. I know political leaders, actors, people of all sorts and even priests who have taken their lives because of this. Whether it is real or hypothetical, for the one who goes through such fears it is painful and scary.

The world we live in has lots of people who go through such fears as mentioned above. They are living in our neighborhoods, our villages and our small towns. They are people we know and talk to everyday. But this side of their personality is hidden and their fear do not allow them to show it to others for fear of rejection. It is a vicious cycle. If you believe God is with you, then today you can give them a ray of hope and a light in the darkness by being with them or sharing a word to them.

May be these people who live in fear are not our neighbors but ourselves!

And if you are, close your eyes and say this to your heart, “God said to me, I am with you. Do not be afraid”. A miracle is waiting to happen and a peace is about to settle in. It is a promise that will not be withdrawn and is kept day after day.

Write me back with your miracle or post your comments here for the benefit of others.
